Healing your body’s innate intelligence
About Dr. Erin
Since 2010, Dr. Erin has been serving communities across the country the best in Naturopathic & Chinese medicine. She approaches each patient as a whole person, instead of a sum of parts, and works to identify the root cause of your health challenges. Individualized treatment provides long-term and sustainable health that allows you to start living again.
❋ Do you treat my condition?
I treat a wide range of conditions, including those that are difficult to diagnose, so the answer is most likely, yes. However, I specialize in both autoimmune disease, such as MS, Lupus, RA, Crohn's, Ulcerative Colitis, and Celiac disease, and also endocrine and hormonal conditions, such as fertility and prenatal care, PMS, PCOS, endometriosis, postpartum depression, hypo- and hyperthyroidism, and adrenal fatigue.
❋ How does treatment work?
I'm a firm believer that no two cases of any condition are exactly the same. So I treat every patient first and foremost as a person.
As a doctor, my goal is to determine specific treatment guidelines that work within your unique body-mind-spirit system to bring back balance.
I’ve found that when balance exists, symptoms fall away, and we’re able to handle stress and feel motivation to engage in all areas of life.
I utilize the strengths of medical diagnostic laboratory and imaging to determine the function of all physical organs within your body from the brain to the kidneys! These are then tied to pulse and tongue diagnosis utilized in Classical Chinese methodology to refine the energetic layers of organ analysis.
Most importantly, your personal narrative is juxtaposed with the above assessment to determine a treatment plan that addresses all aspects of your life.
❋ Which modalities do you use?
A combination of Eastern and Western medicine. Though this varies by patient, it may include nutrition plans, botanical and homeopathic remedies, vitamin and mineral supplementation, and physical modalities such as acupuncture, moxibustion, and cupping.
See below for more information.
❋ How long will treatment take?
Great question! Each case is unique but I expect noticeable improvement within 6-8 weeks of treatment. I strongly urge all new patients to commit for a defined period of time based on their unique condition.
These assessments are made within the 15-minute complimentary prospective patient session.

Naturopathic doctors (NDs) are rigorously trained to assess patients through a detailed history, laboratory analysis, physical exam, and imaging. We then use this info to develop individualized treatment plans based on natural remedies which can include nutrition, movement, self-care exercises, botanicals, and homeopathy.
The fundamental philosophy of Naturopathic medicine is that the body has inherent wisdom and by following the natural law, healing is obtained without need for continual intervention. The physician's role is to augment and support this healing reaction while rooting out the cause of any system imbalances that may be deteriorating the body.

CCM practitioners pull from the rich Chinese medical canon dating back some 2,000 years. These texts explore relationships between the natural world and the human body-mind-spirit, allowing metaphor to develop when exploring disease states. Balance and harmony within this delicate ecosystem are then restored through acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, and herbal medicine.

Drainage was developed in France in the early 20th century to address the toxic burden of the times. Its pioneers found that medicines that should have been effective, would not work until the toxic load was lessened.
Imagine trying to plant a garden in a landfill. If you plant seeds in an area full of waste, they will not grow, even with the best soil and ample sunlight. It is necessary to remove trash and contaminants prior to tilling the soil, providing seeds with fertile ground to take root. Likewise, a body burdened by processing toxins is not able to accept a given medical intervention and requires constant upkeep and ultimately a state of polypharmacy.
Drainage in conjunction with periodic cleansing mobilizes and eliminates toxins, restoring physiology, and eliminating the disease state providing a fresh canvas for simple medicine to work efficiently.

Dr. Danowski may include yoga and meditation instruction as adjunct treatment if appropriate and of interest to the patient. Since 1999, Dr. Danowski has been studying these disciplines primarily with her teachers Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor, senior instructors of Ashtanga vinyasa yoga. Over the last 10 years, Dr. Danowski has also had active interest in the study of Tibetan Buddhism and meditation through her studies with professor Robert AF Tenzin Thurman. In addition to teaching at yoga schools and assisting trainings since 2002, Dr. Danowski provides individualized meditation and yoga practices as part of her therapeutic program. She has found that appropriate application directly modifies the internal environment, reduces stress, and allows the patient to truly thrive.
About Dr. Erin
Erin Danowski, ND, MSOM first developed an interest in alternative healthcare during her undergraduate education while pursuing a degree in botany. She was suffering from chronic allergies that kept her indoors and away from the plants when she happened upon a skilled Native American herbalist who cured the ailment in a few short weeks. She shifted her focus at school to ethnobotany and began the lifelong exploration of how humans utilize plants to support health and well being.
She went on to earn both a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) and a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MSOM) from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. This rigorous dual-degree program consisted of 3,714 hours of classroom education and 2,604 hours of clinical internship including a yearlong appointment with the Immune Enhancement Project where she administered care to patients with chronic disease including cancer, multiple sclerosis, HIV, hepatitis, and chronic pain. Her education was complimented with a yearlong advanced Chinese herbal apprenticeship with Dr. Heiner Fruehauf. Post-graduation, Dr. Danowski completed a primary-care residency under Dickson Thom DDS, ND at Bambu clinic in Portland, Oregon where she became versed in biotherapeutic drainage.
Dr. Danowski has maintained a thriving private practice since 2010 where she integrates the strengths of western medical diagnosis with natural therapeutics and eastern philosophy. She provides researched and relevant treatment to address the demands of modern living. Dr. Danowski believes healing occurs through relationship and as such seeks patients who are committed to lifelong wellness and are motivated to be an active participant in their healthcare.
